The Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) is a non-military in the Second World War, which throughout its existence, Congress has maintained a experience. Politics ended the experience suddenly and with little notice, but this does not detract from their work or their outstanding commitment on the fly. Twenty-five thousand women were candidates in the program. Nearly two thousand workers and the training input. After completing their training, WASP has lived and worked at one hundred twenty bases across the country. They wore military uniforms who followed the strict code and took control as if they served in the armed forces. They did not. They had no life insurance or accident, any death benefits and could not be buried in a military cemetery or receive a burial with flags and honors. WASP could achieve no rank of importance outside their organization, they could give orders to men. Federal law forbade women to fly military aircraft in combat or outside the borders of the United States, again, thirty-eight WASP died serving their country.

World War II was an interesting time for women. Even if a woman wears pants in public yet possible arrest met by a surly police officer, (in some places, illegal pants are women) two hundred thousand enlisted in the army and twelve million, many who had never worked outside their home, found jobs in factories, shipyards, offices, and as civilian employees of military bases.

These women's jobs preformed that person, often the women themselves, expected they could do. Many have worked in familiar roles, such as sewing flags, uniforms and parachutes, but other are mechanics, cryptography and of course the most famous, the thousands of Rosie the Riveters. They became a symbol for all workers.

When the war ended, most women returned to their lives at home, although some continued to work. The unwritten rule in Washington, DC was the role of women in war receive little attention. The military feared that women might think they could continue to take job. After experiencing the WASP "ended, the Pentagon ordered the case sealed. For over thirty years, nobody talked, wrote, or learned about the drivers, and few were interested in women who have literally kept "heat in the house" while they worked in defense plants and shipyards.

That has changed. A lot of information is available.
