Your front door visible from the street? Do you have a walk or a trail that winds from the street to your front entrance? If you answered no to one of these questions, your front yard could use some Feng Shui setting.

Feng Shui basic premise is that energy Chi or the "Breath of Life" connects heaven and earth and man. Chi energy exists in and all around our environment and flows like the wind and water, Therefore, the translation of Feng Shui as "wind and water."

Feng Shui applies not only inside the house, but the how the house is on the parcel, its relationship to the street, the topography and the elements that make up the landscaping.

As Chi energy goes up and down around a house, it is strongly influenced by how the architecture is sensitive to the location and elements of the landscape that surrounds it.

The main entrance of a house is the "mouth of chi" and represents our relationship with the company also informally called the action "stop". Entrances, front doors and routes must be inviting and welcoming to attract positive Chi. If the front door is hidden from the street, it is possible that the architecture is hidden, or simply there are too many trees blocking the view.

Blockages, barriers and traffic congestion can interfere with the flow of chi and reduce the amount of benefits you would get a flow path Free. Architecture "hidden" door special needs improvements to make in the Chi energy, such as lighting track or hang a wind chime at the entrance.

Fountains are very effective in improving the flow of positive Chi as water symbolizes the movement of wealth. A clear still pond brings calm, peace and clarity of thought. Fountains and waterfalls are key elements in gardens because they are in motion, sound and positive energy to a space. They also enhance the appeal front yard pavement, adding a focal point. Water, as one of "five elements" of Feng Shui, provides a key component of any garden. When the four Other elements of fire, earth, metal and wood complement a space, the garden is balanced and evoke good feelings, comfort and a sense of connection with nature.

In Feng Shui terms, nature is balanced by the cyclic interconnections five elements: wood, water, fire, earth and metal. Too much of an element or the absence of an element can be felt. For example, too many green trees (wood) can be balanced with fire (red spicy or plants) that the wood fire burning. Too much fire can be balanced with water (water off fire).

When each element is represented either by the physical form of the (water) or symbolic in form or color corresponding sense harmony can be felt. This sense of balance is what makes outdoor living environment to be in pleasant and attractive eye.

Often, when a garden is tired and neglected, or just seems "blah", a bit of Feng Shui remedies may be all what is necessary to restart the flow of energy, achieve balance between the elements and create a pleasant space that you can call Feng Shui your garden special.

So how does your garden up? The main entrance is blocked by clutter? Can you see the entrance from the street? Do you have all five elements represented in your front garden? Otherwise, apply some of these principles and your garden will be open and receive the Chi energy that was blocked, enhancing its beauty and balance.
