I was completely hooked on Chinese cell phone clones with the release of the CECT P168 early last year. Since then, the Chinese manufacturer has published several additional models. Some but not all, seem to be based on the technology of the iPhone. Almost all have added extra features which I believe could said that the blow offs more interesting than the original. Some examples of these additions are: a slide unlock function which are free to use any company desired, two SIM card slots two numbers or plans, a removable battery, FM radio, and more surround sound speakers.

The CECT A988, one of the newer models, it has all these features. But what really sets this phone apart in my opinion is the "TV Out" feature means that you can connect your phone to your big screen TV to watch video or media. This feature is very popular parents like me, or people taking much of the evolution of video and later want to share more screen without having to squint to see small details. I literally took video of my kids sporting events and shows excited grandparents in great detail, I live an hour later.

In addition, this phone has many standard features you would expect from a Chinese release, including: a 3.0 inch touch screen TFT display with a touch of the finger navigation Internet WAP 2.0, 5 speakers 3D sound, Bluetooth 2.0, SMS and voice mail messaging and MMS, MP3 ringtones, 2.0 megapixel built in camera / camcorder, and 1.7 MB of memory which is expandable to 4 GB. It is also quad band which means it will work almost anywhere in the world.

Unlike many clones, this model has a small keyboard and scroll bar that makes texting easier. It is black on the back and non-metallic silver on the front and includes a pencil optical. It is sleek and streamlined.

Price wise this phone is very competitive, starting at about $ 100 if you know where to look.
