How do I make a DVD slideshow from my digital camera pictures?

What is the best software to do this and it is free or do I have to pay for it? Oh, and how long it may take to achieve this, because I am in the conversion of many pictures for a friend? Thanks to all. Good answers are rewarded!

You can use Microsoft Movie Maker in Windows XP (SP2) or Nero Vision Express (in all retail or OEM Nero Suite included). Both programs are aimed at Both are easy to use and can burn both DVDs directly to the slideshow. Movie Maker has more transition effects as Nero Vision Express. Nero has a better encoder, means better Image quality. Since both are free, you can choose. Note: Nero OEM bundled with burners, means that you have to do with your burner. Good luck with your work.
